Campus & Career publishes general information for international students. It is not legal, immigration, tax or financial advice, and it does not replace a professional who knows your situation.
Rules change
Visa rules, fees, funding amounts and deadlines change, sometimes without notice. Each guide shows the date we last checked a rule against its official source. Always confirm the current rule on that official page before you apply, pay or sign anything.
If a guide and an official source disagree, the official source is right.
Immigration advice
Campus & Career is not a licensed or registered immigration adviser. In many countries only a registered adviser or a lawyer may give advice on an individual case. If your case is not simple, ask one, and check the adviser on the official register before you pay:
- United Kingdom: the Immigration Advice Authority (opens in a new tab) (IAA) regulates immigration advisers. It was called the OISC until 16 January 2025. Solicitors are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
- United States: lawyers, and accredited representatives of organisations recognised by the Department of Justice [to verify].
- Canada: licensed consultants of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) [to verify].
- Australia: registered migration agents, through the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA) [to verify].

Before you borrow or move money, read the lender’s own terms and, where needed, ask a qualified financial adviser.
Salary and job data
Salary and job figures come from official statistics. They describe averages or ranges for a group of workers. They do not predict what you will earn or whether you will find a job.
